Gail Husch recently retired from teaching art history at Goucher College and has written about aspects of American art, including a book titled Something Coming: Apocalyptic Expectation and Mid-Nineteenth-Century American Painting, published by the University Press of New England. In recent years, Dr. Husch has turned to fiction, completing The Button Field, a novel set in the late nineteenth century based on the real-life disappearance of a student from Mount Holyoke College. She is currently working on her second novel, also set in New England in the 1890s, this time dealing with the consequences of a mysterious appearance.
